We at Solid Rock Church believe we have been called by God to reach out to the families in the community with members who have special needs. We understand the many difficulties and trials of these families because many of our families also have members with special needs.

My wife and I have fostered over forty special needs children over the years and have adopted six of these. Our assistant pastor and his wife have adopted two special needs children themselves. And there are others.

Solid Rock is a multicultural, non-denominational church. Our special needs children participate in our worship service side by side with the adults. They sing, testify and even read the Bible during devotional time. One of our deaf children loves to sing. And though we can't understand most of her words, she sings proudly and unashamed and God understands every perfect word formed in her heart.

Our physical limitations should not be a limitation on our need, ability or opportunity to worship and praise God for all he has done for us. One of our recent goals was to feature a choir with all the children in the church who wish to participate whether they have special needs or not. This has now become reality.

We understand how important it is to be accepted and we want all families and especially those special needs families to know that they are loved, wanted, needed and welcome.
